Legendary boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. received the Champion of Israel award at the American Friends of Magen David Adom Gala in Miami this week.

A 15-time world champion and boxing promoter, Mayweather generously supported Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service, following the October 7 Hamas attacks, including sending his personal airplane to Israel with supplies for those wounded and displaced, and emerging as a vocal advocate for the Jewish people during the recent rise in worldwide antisemitic incidents.

Magen David Adom paramedics have been on the front-line saving lives. On 7th October they were targeted by Hamas terrorists as they drove in ambulances to save lives of those shot by Hamas. MDA paramedics have been both murdered & seriously wounded.

Day 9 of the Iron Swords War: Summary of MDA activity in the last day

From last night until 18:30 Magen David Adom teams provided medical treatment to 4 victims as a result of shrapnel, including: a man about 40 years old was killed, 2 men about 70 and 39 years old in moderate condition, and 1 in a light condition, all of them in the Western Galilee.

Since the beginning of the war, MDA forces have treated thousands of casualties, dead, seriously, moderately and lightly injured, including MDA personnel who were involved in saving lives. Even today (Sunday), MDA forces are on high alert throughout the country. About 1,400 MDA ambulances, including bulletproof ambulances, are manned by MDA volunteers and employees who save lives sometimes under fire.

The MDA blood services held special blood drives in Beit Shean, Yavneh, Yehud Monoson, Jerusalem, Kfar Saba, Karmiel, Merav Center, Shoham, Tel Aviv and Tel Mond.. Since the beginning of the war (7.10). The MDA blood services have donated more than 25,000 units of blood from citizens who volunteered. The rations and blood components were supplied to all the hospitals in Israel to treat the wounded.

Since the beginning of the war, MDA helicopters have carried out dozens of medevac missions and evacuated dozens of wounded civilians and soldiers from the area and the hospitals in the south to the Sheba hospitals in Tel Hashomer, Beilinson, Ichilov, Shamir-Assaf Harofeh, Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem. After initial treatment in the Barzilai and Soroka hospitals in the south, dozens of ambulances, intensive care vehicles and dedicated evacuation vehicles of Magen David Adom, transported injured people of all degrees of injury to hospitals throughout the country.
