MDA help fight Corona virus in Congo

MDA has been helping the fight against Corona virus in Congo after their successful drive thru sampling facilities in Israel.

Drive thru centers have been operating since the beginning of the outbreak in Israel and have received more than 120,000 Israelis. The Congo’s Honorary Consul in Israel, Dan Gertler, contacted MDA, looking for advice and help in establishing facilities that are similar in Congo, to help the fight against Corona virus.

MDA of course helped and built the drive thru facilities in the Congo and members of the MDA prepared a training program full of videos and written instructions. These instructions and procedures have been passed onto the medical professionals who are running the facility.

Chief of Information Officer for MDA,  Ido Rosenblat said, “During the long period in which we operated the many ‘Drive Thru’ sampling facilities, the technology we used proved itself, along with the effective and safe practices that enabled the safety of the suspected infected and the teams,” “from the moment they contacted us , we were ready to help at during difficult time to set up the ‘Drive Thru’ sampling facilities in Congo, and to share our knowledge. ”

The facilities were opened at the end of May and Congo’s Minister of Health Dr. Eteni Longondo and Director General Mr. Sylvain Yuma Ramazani visited the facilities. They were very thankful for all MDA’s help in the creation of the facilities.

MDA Director General Eli Bin said “The medical capabilities and technologies of Magen David Adom, along the methods we are developing, are among the most advanced in the world. In the light of the fight against Corona virus, we have gained extensive experience in obtaining thousands of samples a day, most efficiently and safely, and now we are happy to share knowledge with other medical entities around the world, for the sake of saving human lives.”
