In response to Hezbollah missile attack, MDA saves lives and provides crucial blood to victims
Ten teenagers and young adults were killed earlier this evening when a Hezbollah missile directly hit a soccer field in the northern Druze community of Majdal Shams.
The injured, including those affected by the hit as well as those experiencing trauma and stress symptoms, were treated by teams of Magen David Adom medics at the scene and transported via ambulance and helicopter to hospitals for further treatment. Additionally, MDA provided nearly 100 blood units to those in need following the attack.
Without the quick and comprehensive response of MDA and the immediate supply of blood units to the victims, the death toll following the strike would undoubtedly have been higher.
The missile was launched by Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based terror group, in the kind of attack that Magen David Adom remains continually prepared for. “Magen David Adom teams stand ready,” said MDA Chief of Staff Uri Shacham, “for additional people who need care and in preparation for any future development.”
Your support of Magen David Adom is felt by Israelis every day — providing training to medics, putting ambulances on the road, and enabling MDA to develop the emergency protocols that save lives when terror attacks occur.
